The workers and associates of Jamaat from Shopian and adjoining areas are being harassed by the Rashtriya Rifles camp at Ahgam Shopian and are being forces to attend the said camp where they are subjected to mental harassment by asking unnecessary questions by the said camp in-charge.

The said camp in-charge repeatedly asks these workers of jamaat those questions which are beyond his domain and concern. Jamaat-e-Isalami is a socio-religious organization working for promoting the Islamic character and moral up gradation amongst people by organizing propagatory programs and congregations openly and has been doing so since its formation in 1945 and its style of working is peaceful and upper ground. Besides it collects donations from its associates and general public in the form of charity Zakaat and monetary assistance for assisting the down trodden and needy people in an organized manner with transparence and sincerity.

It also helps the affected people during the natural calamities like fire, flood etc. It helps the poor students to enable them to meet out the necessary educational expenses openly. It collects the required funds locally through lawful means and distributes the same among the needy and poor people, without any discrimination of creed, colour, region and its all activities are open and transparent. But despite all its social work some elements with vested interests are bent upon to tarnishing the image of Jamaat by their vicious propaganda and the same elements have started a baseless defamation campaign against jamaat.

Jamaat-e-Islami strongly denounces the role of 44-RR camp at Ahgam Shopian against the local Jamaat workers and associates, and asks the human rights bodies to intervene in this crucial situation and take effective steps to stop it.
